Halloween Disc-A-Day: Day 20 Mr. Hell

This project is an attempt to help me get dvds that for one reason or another I’ve never seen off of my shelf and give them a watch.  Today’s pick is Mr. Hell.

IMDb: Mr. Hell (18 April 2006)
A secret bioweapons lab invaded by mercenaries becomes a house of horrors when they encounter MR. HELL, an ancient serial killer who takes souls by removing his victims eyes.

The supernatural elements in slashers go all the way back to the official beginning of the sub-genre, Halloween, and has survived through the years in the more iconic modern horror characters. It’s nice to see an addition to the sub-genre just to keep it somewhat alive, so it has that going for it at least. Quality wise, it’s bad but not so bad that it circles back around to being enjoyable. The story is so simple there is almost no room for plot holes. The main thing setup but don’t resolve is the ring. It blinks and is seemingly the basis of the title sequence. That seems like… an oversight. That’s an eye pun. Oh, and there is absolutely no indication that he is “ancient” like the synopsis says.
