Halloween Disc-A-Day: Day 24 The Rockville Slayer

This project is an attempt to help me get dvds that for one reason or another I’ve never seen off of my shelf and give them a watch.  Today’s pick is The Rockville Slayer.

IMDb: The Rockville Slayer (10 July 2004)
Detective Michael Brophy (Joe Morowitz), and Detective Amy Rodgers (Nicole Buehrer), lead the investigation into the murder of two high school couples in Rockville. Unfortunately, during their investigation, the killings continue.

This is a deceptive synopsis which is perfectly in tune with the deceptive title.  One of those detectives is a lead in the story, but the other main character is Deputy Charley played by Circus-Szalewski who I mention primarily for the unusual name.  It seems to fit with his bizarre filmography.  He’s in three of the Evil Bong movies and not even necessarily as the same character.  He feels very out of place in the role of a cop, because of how thin and gangly he is.  Primarily thought, this is a film of cameos.  We have Joe Estevese as the sheriff, Robert Z’Dar as some guy, and Linnea Quigley doing what she does.  They are the highlights even if the late Robert Z’Dar is kind of poor.

Check out some Motion Picture Meltdown episodes on some other Linnea Quigley films, Return of the Living Dead and Robot Ninja.
