Halloween Disc-A-Day: Day 25 Chupacabra Terror

This project is an attempt to help me get dvds that for one reason or another I’ve never seen off of my shelf and give them a watch.  Today’s pick is Chupacabra Terror.

IMDb: Chupacabra Terror (Video 29 January 2005)
When cryptozoologist Dr. Peña traps the legendary Chupacabra on a remote Caribbean island, he smuggles it aboard a cruise ship with disastrous results.

Alternative synopsis: Discontent with sucking goats, a chupacabra that looks suspiciously like bat boy goes in search of human prey to suck off on a boat. Before the SciFi channel became SyFy, it had a 5 or so year run of making its own movies. Now they farm out that job to the Asylum mostly and really that’s a move for the worse. I’ve said before that they have one creative genious working for them and he is locked away somewhere coming up with titles. Unfortunately, no one else involved seems to be trying. This stars stars John Rhys-Davies looking slim and total not phoning it in. That sounds like a joke, but rest assured John Rhys-Davies fucking brings it. There’s no one else recognizable or very good for that matter. He is the core of the movie and carries it well. The creature is a guy running around in a goof, greased up rubber suit. This is the cinematic equivalent of junk food, but you wouldn’t know it from watching him and I like that. More of these movies should follow suit.
