Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! After a great response last year, we’ve decided to do another MPM Black History Month, where we only highlight films that are directed, acted, or written by African-Americans. In this episode, we roast through one of the staple horror anthologies from the 90’s, Tales From The Hood, as well as the recent 2018 sequel, Tales From The Hood 2. Both of these movies were directed by Rusty Cundieff (The Chappelle Show) and executive produced by Spike Lee. You’ll hear us talk about our personal hell, we talk about how relevant the stories from the 90’s are twenty-five years later, and we argue whether big villains are scarier than small villains. Enjoy!Continue reading “MPM: Ep. 336 – Welcome To Podcast Hell!”
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We finish up out Black History Month movies with a couple horror films I choose. This week, I pick Get Out and Blacula. You’ll hear us talk about whether we would embrace to monster attire, I explain bocce ball to the guys, and we suspect that cult surgeries aren’t legit. We hope you’ve loved this month as much as we have, and we continue to celebrate how important African-American actors are to movies every single day. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! Not only are we continuing Black History Month here at MPM, but we’ve also hit our 300th episode! For this episode, we dedicated it to one of the most badass black characters in film history, Shaft. We touch on the original 1971 film and the 2000’s reboot/sequel. You’ll hear us talk about or favorite and most hated episodes from the last 100, we talk about the complete bullshit of movie window jumping, and we all wish we had our own theme song that plays when we walk. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! This February we’ve decided to start our annual MPM Black History Month. We’ve never never been shy of diversity, but we want to dedicate this month every year to some of the best actors, movies, and genres in black historic film. This week, Phil picks a couple of movies with one of the greatest actors ever, and the most Oscar nominated black actor, Denzel Washington! Phil picks a couple films we’re less familiar with and we go through The Equalizer an The Bone Collector. In this episode, we talk about which black actor we’d love to murder people with, we talk about how doing the same crimes from a book isn’t that original, and we think Cheats is mildly obsessed with Ed O’neil. Enjoy!
