Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! After a great response last year, we’ve decided to do another MPM Black History Month, where we only highlight films that are directed, acted, or written by African-Americans. In this episode, we roast through one of the staple horror anthologies from the 90’s, Tales From The Hood, as well as the recent 2018 sequel, Tales From The Hood 2. Both of these movies were directed by Rusty Cundieff (The Chappelle Show) and executive produced by Spike Lee. You’ll hear us talk about our personal hell, we talk about how relevant the stories from the 90’s are twenty-five years later, and we argue whether big villains are scarier than small villains. Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We finish up doing horror anthologies with a couple of picks from Cheats. He hits us with an H.P. Lovecraft inspired movie from 1993, Necronomicon: Book Of The Dead as well as Southbound. In this episode, you’ll hear what theme we would make an anthology from, we wonder how much goo is too much goo, and once again, we see David Warner as a crazy scientist. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! This week, Phil picks a couple of horror anthologies for us to watch. We go through Tales From The Darkside: The Movie, and Nightmares. In this episode, we talk about what video games universes we’d prefer to be trapped in, Phil hates hardcore on one of the stories, and we all make fun of the age William Hickey died at. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We continue doing horror anthologies, and I pick a couple more popular films, with Stephen King’s Cat’s Eye as well as John Carpenter’s Body Bags. In this episode, you’ll hear us talk about how evil deer are, we gush over claymation hair snakes, and Cheats talks about how much he hates cat jingles. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Finally, the Halloween shenanigans can begin for Motion Picture Meltdown! Sorry for the delay over the last few weeks, as we’ve dealt with a hurricane, power loss, vacations and more. However, here we are, doing Horror Anthologies for all of October (these will run into November, don’t worry!) We kick off this month with a couple of picks from Dehart. He chose Tales From The Crypt and its “sequel”, The Vault Of Horror. In this episode, you’ll hear us rehash the first time we heard classic stories, we bring up The Simpsons every five minutes, and we talk about Pazuzu’s annoying cousin, Kazoozu. Enjoy!
