Hey everyone! Not-So Superhero September continues as we are joined by an awesome special guest and co-host from Nerdonomy’s Nerds On Film/Nerds On History podcast, Bryan Moriarty! Bryan is a huge comic book nerd, and jumped at the chance to be talking about the two movies we decided to roast through this week. Phil, Cheats, Dehart and myself go through a couple movies that were less-than well received by the comic book nerd and movie nerd universe alike. This week we go through The Phantom as well as Frank Miller’s solo directorial debut movie, The Spirit. In this episode, you will hear us explain exactly when the reality of the universe must be explained in the movie, you’ll hear me gush about Scarlett Johannson, and we continue to give Cheats shit about his trust stop virtual reality sessions. Enjoy!
Hello everyone! Welcome to our last summer edition of Motion Picture Meltdown! We finish out the summer months by going through a couple movies about America’s favorite summer past-time, baseball! This episode, Dehart, Phil, Cheats and myself take on a couple of classic baseball flicks by roasting through Major League as well as The Sandlot. In this episode, we figure out that Dehart’s favorite thing to do outside as a kid was be The Predator, we turn The Sandlot into a David Fincher movie, and we can’t figure out why everyone is so happy at the end of Major League. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! This week we continue trucking through our summer theme with a couple of..virtual reality movies? In an attempt to connect these movies with the summer by using lawnmowing as a summer job, we go through the incredibly shitty Lawnmower Man movies. In this episode, you’ll hear Cheats, Phil, Dehart and myself talk about our first encounters with virtual reality, we talk about how the Lawnmower Man is just welfare Pinhead, and Philip goes on another tirade about…well, you guessed it…Point Break. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We are in the midst of summer and keeping our summer theme going strong! We’re branching out into our MPM roots and going through a couple of summer camp movies NOT called Friday the 13th. This week we dive into a couple of underrated 80’s slasher flicks in Sleepaway Camp and possibly one of the best slashers of all time, The Burning. In this episode, you’ll hear us debate over the best weapon found in a garden shed, you’ll hear Philip rage about his tiredness of seeing buttholes in movies, and you’ll hear me make the bold claim that The Burning is better than any of the Jason movies. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Welcome to another episode of Motion Picture Meltdown! We continue to boost our summer fun by roasting through a couple of tubular surfing movies, dudes! This week we officially induct Cheats McGee as our fourth permanent co-host (until we kick him out), and roast through the cult classic Surf Nazis Must Die as well as a 90’s action flick that for some reason seems to be at the top of everyone’s action list, Point Break. In this episode, you’ll hear us all debate on why surfers are stereotyped as morons, you’ll hear Philip rage hardcore about how much he hates Point Break, and you’ll hear Dehart talk about how Patrick Swayze “Mariokarts” someone in Point Break. Enjoy!
